The package price includes your professional tour guide and bus driver- who you’ll meet right after passport control. Your mind will be at ease in a comfortable air conditioned minibus, three satisfying lunches, and admission. That is, entrance to all of St. Petersburg’s infamous churches, museums, and parks listed in the sample itinerary.

What will your three day tour be like?
(Please note that the actual tour sequencing depends on the day of the week that your tour begins on.)
After disembarking the ship and having your passport checked, you’ll immediately see your tour guide who will show you to your clean air-conditioned minibus. We will provide you with tour ticket documents before your departure to make the process go as smoothly as possible.
Your tour will begin with heading to the the city’s historical artery, Nevsky prospect. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to snap some photos at some of the best scenic photo stops.
On Nevsky, we will walk along the boulevard and take in the city’s unique architecture and bright colored buildings.
This will give us a chance to introduce the city for you to give you more context about what you’ll see for the rest of your tour.
Then, we will move on to St. Isaac’s cathedral– a gorgeous feat of architecture and engineering, including the fourth largest cupola in the world, by volume. After a comprehensive tour inside the cathedral, your will be invited to climb up to the colonnade’s observation deck (as featured in one of our evening activities: Click here). There will you a great opportunity to take panoramic pictures of the Russian Imperial capital next to St. Isaac’s massive cupola.
Next, we will head to a local restaurant where you will have the chance to appreciate traditional Russian cuisine (we will work to accommodate any dietary restrictions).
After your satisfying lunch, you will be brought to spectacular Faberge museum. There you will be able to appreciate the museum’s collection featuring the largest Faberge Easter egg collection outside of Moscow. You will be able to move around the museum independently and at your leisure with the help of an audio-guide; though your tour guide will still be available if you have any questions.
Afterwards, we’ll board a boat and go on a cruise through St.Petersburg’s canals and pass under its many bridges. This is one of the things that locals of St.Petersburg love to do during the summer, and there will be no mystery why!
We will then cross over the Neva river and tour Peter and Paul’s cathedral and fortress, the oldest structure in the city and the birth place of St. Petersburg.
There, you will find out more about the interesting relationships between the members of the royal family and the story of St. Petersburg’s founding. You will also see the royal family’s final resting places while taking in the impressive gilded interior and exterior. Our tour of the fortress will culminate with a brief tour of the oldest and most famous prison in Russia.
Next, we will head for the port, with opportunities for additional photos along the way.
We will arrive at the port no later than 18:00. What comes next depends on you: you might find yourself learning how to cook like a Russian chef, enjoying a performance by the most talented ballet company in the world, or something completely different with one of our many unique evening options which include tour guide and private transportation.
Should you decide not to join us for an evening activity, that’s fine too. We’ll get you back to your ship with enough time to make it to your on-board dinner.
After disembarking, you’ll immediately see your smiling tour guide, just like on the first day.
Your day will start with a scenic drive to the town of Peterhoff. On the way to Peterhoff we will exit the minibus and go down to the metro. There you will be guided through some of Russia’s most unique metro stations designed in “Stalin Empire” style public art.
We will then be picked up just outside the metro station and continue the drive to Peterhoff.
Afterwards you will have a special opportunity to enter The Grand Peterhoff Palace, before its public opening. Your guide will give you an informative tour of the palace great enfilade, state, and private rooms. You will discover more about the Russian Royal family, Russian history, and Russian traditions through the tour of the palace.
Once we’re done, we will bring you to the famous Peterhoff Fountain park. You will see the Grand cascade, the Samson fountain, secret “trick” fountains, Roman fountains, rotating “sun” fountain, and many more. During our tour of the Fountain park you will learn about the history of creation of Peterhoff and discover the Czar’s playful side.
For lunch, we will bring you to a nearby local restaurant, where you will continue getting to know Russian cuisine.
We will then start heading to the town of Pushkin (aka Czarskoye Selo). On the way there, you will have an opportunity to recharge with a power nap or get to know your guide better before touring Pavlovsk’s Palace. Your visit will be highlighted by The Royal Bedchamber and The Royal Throne Room.
After appreciating the inside of the palace, we will briefly stroll through the park, when we will then be picked up right outside the park’s gate and we will drive back to St. Petersburg. Along the way, we will have additional opportunities for scenic stops.
After arriving back to the city center, you will follow your guide on a visit to the cavernous and awesome Kazan cathedral, the largest functioning Orthodox cathedral in all of Russia.
We will be back to the seaport by 17:30. This way you will have enough time to have dinner (schedule permitting) and get ready for any evening activities.
Your third day will begin by meeting your guide and driver as the previous two days.
Next, we will head over to The Hermitage, one of the largest and oldest museums in the world, located inside the royal family’s Winter Palace.
There, we’ll enter the museum with a special early admission, before the museum’s official opening time, in order to beat the crowds. Then in the Hermitage you will get to appreciate the fine works of art and its palatial interior during our tour. You will be shown the Royal staterooms of the Winter Palace, including the throne hall, and the Gallery of the 1812. Our tour of the halls will cover Italian, Spanish, and Dutch masters and we will appreciate masterpieces by: Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, and many more. Also, we will walk through the halls of the ancient Egyptian, Roman, and Greek art.
After our thorough tour of the Hermitage, we will relax and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.
Next, we will head to The Yusupov Palace. Inside, you will tour the private and staterooms, you will learn about the richest and most powerful family in the country. We will also visit the basement where you will see the the location of Rasputin’s infamous demise.
Then we will move on to the most beautiful church in Russia, The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. Where you will be surrounded by its staggering mosaic-lined interior and be awed by its marvelous ornate domes.
Afterwards, we will get you back to the port and you will be on-board your ship in time for your departure. You will leave St. Petersburg with a few more friends waiting for your return and great memories of the Northern Venice.
