Your tour will begin by heading for the summer palace, Peterhoff. Along the way, we will make a few stops to snap some photos at some of the best photo spots. Your guide will introduce St. Petersburg and its history to give you more context about what you’ll see for the rest of your tour. This will also include a stop by some of the world’s most beautiful subway stations and also see some Stalin-era art.
While in the park, you’ll get to learn about and enjoy the various gorgeous and playful fountains and gardens within the park of the Czars’ preferred summer residence.
Afterwards, we’ll take a break at a nearby restaurant where you’ll be served a satisfying three-course lunch.
Following a scenic drive, you’ll arrive at Pavlovsk Palace which is sure to impress you with its exquisite design. Your visit will be highlighted by The Royal Bedchamber and The Royal Throne Room.
Next, we’ll head back to the city and tour the cavernous and awesome Kazan Cathedral in the heart of St.Petersburg.
Your evening is completely up to you: you might find yourself learning how to cook like a Russian chef , enjoying a performance by the most talented ballet company in the world , or something completely different with one of our many unique evening options which include a tour guide and private transportation.
Should you decide not to join us for an evening activity, that’s alright too. We’ll bring you back to your ship in time for your on-board dinner.
After disembarking, you’ll notice your smiling tour guide, just like on the first day.
Your tour will start by heading for the the St. Petersburg’s historical artery, Nevsky prospekt. Along the way, we’ll make some scenic photo stops.
On Nevsky, we will walk along the boulevard and take in the city’s unique architecture and bright colored buildings. We will get to see the city gradually come alive as locals make their way to the St. Petersburg’s main shopping and dining district.
Next, we will head over to The Hermitage, one of the largest and oldest museums in the world, located inside the royal family’s Winter Palace.
There, in the Hermitage, you will get to appreciate the palatial interior during our tour and fine works of art, by many of the greats. This includes works by Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Raphael, and many others. We will also pay a visit to galleries with featuring ancient Egyptian, Roman, and Greek works of art.
For lunch, we’ll relax at a nearby cafe where you’ll enjoy traditional Russian comfort food while recharging.
We will then visit the recently opened Faberge Museum, which is housed in an 18th century palace. You will marvel at the second largest collection of Faberge eggs in the world while moving around the museum at your leisure.
Following a brief drive, we will tour the inside of The Church on the Spilled Blood. You’ll be surrounded by its staggering mosaic-lined interior and be awed by its marvelous ornate domes.
Afterwards, we’ll board a boat and go on a cruise tour through St.Petersburg’s canals and pass under its many bridges. This is a summer favorite of St.Petersburg locals, and there will be no mystery why!
We will have time for some additional photos stops or optional shopping stops. Then we will make our way back to the seaport and you’ll take comfort in our guaranteed on-time return to the ship, just like the shore excursions offered by many cruise lines.
