After disembarking the ship and having your passport checked, you’ll immediately see your tour guide who will show you to your clean air-conditioned minibus. We will provide you with tour ticket documents before your departure to make the process go as smoothly as possible.

Your tour will begin by heading for the the city’s historical artery, Nevsky prospect. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to snap some photos at some of the best scenic photo stops.

On Nevsky prospect, we will walk along the boulevard and take in the city’s unique architecture and bright colored buildings.

This will give us a chance to introduce the city to you to give you context about what you’ll see for the rest of your tour.

Next, we will head over to The Hermitage, one of the largest and oldest museums in the world. There, we’ll enter the museum with a special early admission, before the museum’s official opening time, in order to beat the crowds. Then in the Hermitage you will get to appreciate the fine works of art and its palatial interior during our tour. You will be shown the Royal staterooms of The Winter Palace, including the throne hall, and the Gallery of the 1812. Our tour of the halls will cover Italian, Spanish, and Dutch masters and we will appreciate masterpieces by: Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, and many more. Also, we will walk through the halls of the ancient Egyptian, Roman, and Greek art.

After our thorough tour of the Hermitage, we will relax and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.

We will then cross over the Neva river and tour Peter and Paul’s cathedral and fortress, the oldest structure in the city and the birth place of St. Petersburg.

There, you will find out more about the interesting relationships between the members of the royal family and the story of St. Petersburg’s founding. You will also see their final resting places while taking in the impressive gilded interior and exterior. Our tour of the fortress will culminate with a brief tour of the oldest and most famous prison in Russia.

Then we will move on to the most beautiful church in Russia, Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. Where you will be surrounded by its staggering mosaic-lined interior and be awed by its marvelous ornate domes.

We will complete our day with a tour of St. Isaac’s cathedral- a gorgeous feat of architecture and engineering, including the third largest cupola in the world, by volume.

We will arrive at the port no later than 17:30. What comes next is up to you: you might find yourself learning how to cook like a Russian chef , enjoying a performance by one of the most talented ballet companies in the world, or something completely different with one of our many unique evening options which include tour guide and private transportation.

Should you decide not to join us for an evening activity, that’s alright too. We’ll bring you back to your ship with enough time to make it to your on-board dinner.
