What will your two days in St. Petersburg be like? (Example Itinerary)
(Please note that this is the example itinerary for a tw0-day kids tour. Please contact us regarding building a customized one and three-day kids tour.)
After disembarking the ship, you’ll immediately see your tour guide who will show you to your clean air-conditioned vehicle.
Your tour will begin by heading for the the city’s historical artery, Nevsky Prospect. Along the way, you will have the chance to snap some photos at some of the best scenic photo stops.
Next, we will go over to embankment beside The Hermitage and board a hydrofoil boat. The boat will take us across the Gulf of Finland directly to Peterhoff Park. There, we’ll walk through the upper and lower parks, and make special stops at the fountains- including the grand cascade, trick fountains, and others. Your guide will talk about the story behind the gardens and Peter the Great’s playful side.
Afterwards, we’ll take a break at a nearby restaurant, with a kid’s menu, where you’ll be served a satisfying three-course lunch.
When everyone has finished their meal, we start heading back to the city with our driver and vehicle. Along the way, we will stop by the St. Petersburg Metro to see several of the world’s most ornate subway stations.
Then, we will continue to “Grand Maket Russia”, an enormous interactive miniature model of Russia. The intricate system of railways and roads filled with cars, trucks, and trains is nothing short of impressive. The level of detail of the scenes featured in the display will capture your imagination and you’ll appreciate the various “Easter eggs” throughout. Not to mention that the kids will like it too.
Then, we will have free time which can be for snack time, souvenir shopping, or whatever else you would like.
What comes next depends on you: you might find yourself learning how to cook like a Russian chef , enjoying a performance by the most talented ballet company in the world, or something completely different with one of our many unique evening options which include tour guide and private transportation.
Of course, you are under no obligation to bring the kids along, but they are always welcome!
Should you decide not to join us for an evening activity, that’s alright too. We’ll bring you back to your ship in time for your on-board dinner.
After disembarking, you’ll see your smiling tour guide, just like on the first day.
We will go over to The Hermitage, one of the largest and oldest museums in the world, located inside the royal family’s Winter Palace. There, we’ll enter the museum with a special early admission in order to beat the crowds. Then, in the Hermitage you will get to appreciate the fine works of art and its palatial interior during our tour. During the tour we will visit the Knights hall and the Ancient Egyptian hall with a three thousand year-old mummy.
Our next stop will be The Soviet-Era Arcade Museum. Though they call themselves a museum, it’s more of an arcade than a museum. There, everyone will enjoy experiencing the best cutting-edge arcade technology that the Soviet Union had to offer. Of course, your guide will be there to help you with any games that you might not be familiar with.
After having a great time at the Soviet Arcade museum, we’ll stop by at a neighboring restaurant where we will replenish ourselves.
Next, we will head to the Peter and Paul’s Fortress, the city’s only fortress. There, you will find out about the interesting relationships between the members of the royal family. You’ll also see their final resting places while taking in the impressive gilded interior and exterior. Then, we will also pay a visit to the fortress’ prison, the oldest political prison in the whole Russia, contained within the walls of the fortress.
Afterwards, we’ll board a boat and go on a cruise through St.Petersburg’s canals and pass under its many bridges. This is one of the things that locals of St.Petersburg love to do during the summer, and there will be no mystery why!
Lastly, we will have a tour inside the Church on the Spilled Blood. You’ll be surrounded by its staggering mosaic-lined interior and be awed by its marvelous ornate domes.
Finally, we will head to the seaport and you’ll take comfort in our guaranteed on-time return to the ship, just like cruise line shore excursions.
